Our Leadership
Mike Walker
Mike Walker is Small Things Enterprises’ president and founder.
Prior to establishing STE Mike was a management consultant who worked with local governments and school districts to improve their organization, management, and operations. In this role he served many of the nation’s largest local governments (Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio Texas; Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri; Cleveland, Ohio; Atlanta, Georgia; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Little Rock, Arkansas; Seattle, Washington: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Phoenix, Arizona; Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, Maryland) and school districts (Detroit, Michigan; Baltimore, Maryland; Los Angeles, California; New York, New York; Washington, D.C.; Miami-Dade County, Florida; and Seattle, Washington).
Mike currently serves on the Board of Trustees for St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Cleveland.
He holds a bachelor’s degree, with honors, from Williams College and an MBA degree, with distinction, from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School (where he concentrated in public management and finance).

Renee Tinsley
Renee Tinsley has been a Small Things Enterprises Board member since its founding.
Previously she served as a management consultant to school districts focusing on developing strategies to improve student, teacher, and staff performance. Among the many school districts she served are Baltimore, Maryland; Detroit, Michigan; New York City; Newark, New Jersey; Norristown, Pennsylvania; Miami-Dade County and Sarasota County, Florida; and Washington, DC. She also worked with local governments to help them improve their performance.
Renee has held a variety of volunteer positions including Prince George’s County (Maryland); PetSmart; Covenant House; the Rockefeller Institute; Shepherd’s Cove Emergency Shelter; and various food banks and soup kitchens.
She holds a B.A. degree with honors in Religious Studies and has taken graduate courses at The New School for Social Research and John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Andy Clark
Prior to joining STE’s Board of Directors, Andy was Assistant Director of the Department of Justice’s Consumer Protection Branch where he worked to enforce laws that protect Americans’ health, safety, and economic security, and to strengthen regulatory oversight by the Food and Drug Administration, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, and other consumer protection agencies.
Over the course of his 36-year career at DOJ, Andy was recognized for his contributions to consumer protection and public health, receiving, among other honors, the DOJ Civil Division’s Dedicated Service Award, the Assistant Attorney General’s Career Service Award, the FDA Commissioner’s Special Citation (the highest award the agency bestows on citizens who promote public health), and the Food and Drug Law Institute’s Distinguished Service and Leadership Award.
Andy received his bachelor’s degree cum laude from Williams College and his J.D. degree cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center.

Esperanza Threads
Esperanza Threads provides industrial sewing and job readiness training to low-income individuals with multiple barriers to employment while simultaneously operating as a revenue-generating venture to assist in funding the mission. (www.esperanzathreads.org)
St. Luke’s Episcopal Church
Founded in 1886 on the corner of West 78th Street and Lake Avenue in what it now the Detroit-Shoreway area of Cleveland St. Luke’s has a long history of service to the community. St. Luke’s, which has always been a church geared to children in the neighborhood, is dedicated to outreach for the local community focused on feeding, clothing and teaching. The University Settlement has been serving the Broadway Slavic Village neighborhood in Cleveland since 1926. The organization provides a broad range of programs and services focused on the community, family, youth and seniors. (www.universitysettlement.net)
